About Glutathione

Glutathione (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine) is a tripeptide and the most abundant low-molecular-weight thiol in mammalian cells. An unusual γ-peptide bond links its glutamate and cysteine residues.

It interconverts between reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) forms and is a standard reagent in redox biology, thiol chemistry and glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzyme assays.

Common research areas

  • Redox biology and GSH/GSSG ratio assays
  • Glutathione S-transferase enzyme kinetics
  • Thiol and disulfide chemistry
  • Cell-culture redox models

Store sealed vials refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protected from light and moisture. For extended storage, −20 °C is standard practice for lyophilized peptides. Allow vials to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Handle all research materials using appropriate laboratory practices and personal protective equipment, in line with your institution’s safety procedures. Keep out of reach of children.

Each container is printed with a lot number (CRL-GLU-600-0915, CRL-GLU-1500-0915). The Certificate of Analysis for each lot reports HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity results.
