HCG
Human chorionic gonadotropin, heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone
For research use only. Not for human consumption. This product is supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research and analytical use by qualified researchers aged 21+. It is not a drug, food, dietary supplement or cosmetic, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. No information on this site is medical advice or usage guidance.
About HCG
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone made up of an α subunit, which is shared with LH, FSH and TSH, and a hormone-specific β subunit.
Because hCG is heavily glycosylated and its activity depends on conformation, quantity is expressed in International Units (IU) rather than by mass.
In research settings it is used to study LH/CG receptor (LHCGR) binding, glycoprotein structure and glycosylation, and as a reference material in immunoassay development.
Common research areas
- LH/CG receptor binding studies
- Glycoprotein structure and glycosylation
- Immunoassay calibration and development
- Heterodimer assembly research
Descriptions are general scientific background for laboratory researchers. They are not claims of safety, efficacy or suitability for any use in humans or animals.

Store sealed vials refrigerated at 2–8 °C, protected from light and moisture. For extended storage, −20 °C is standard practice for lyophilized peptides. Allow vials to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
Handle all research materials using appropriate laboratory practices and personal protective equipment, in line with your institution’s safety procedures. Keep out of reach of children.
Each container is printed with a lot number (CRL-HCG-1000-0915, CRL-HCG-2000-0915, CRL-HCG-4000-0915). The Certificate of Analysis for each lot reports HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity results.
